19 Meanwhile, the high priest questioned Jesus about his disciples and his teaching.
20 “I have spoken openly to the world,” Jesus replied. “I always taught in synagogues or at the temple, where all the Jews come together. I said nothing in secret. 21 Why question me? Ask those who heard me. Surely they know what I said.”
22 When Jesus said this, one of the officials nearby slapped him in the face. “Is this the way you answer the high priest?” he demanded.
23 “If I said something wrong,” Jesus replied, “testify as to what is wrong. But if I spoke the truth, why did you strike me?” 24 Then Annas sent him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.

Personal Reflection and Discussion
- What is the reasoning behind the questioning of Jesus?
- What does Jesus’ response reveal about the trial?
- In the Greek, the word “wrong” shares its name with that of “miserable,” “severely oppressed,” “suffer,” and even “evil.” What does this change about your thinking or feelings of being wrong? What can it imply? What caution does it place on being wrong? What importance does it place on truth?

Prayer
Jesus, you are honest, you are true to your word, you are patient, you are humble. When I face undue questioning, when I encounter people who have already made up their mind about something, when people do not believe me…encourage me to demonstrate humility, patience, truth and a commitment to you. Amen.

Greek Word of the Day

Family Engagement Activity
Talk about how one wrong/untruthful move on Jesus’ part OR even Him not fulfilling ONE prophecy means that he isn’t the Christ.
AND
Have the family do something that is very meticulous. Talk again about how Jesus had to do everything right to complete the task with no errors and neglect in fulfilling really complex prophecies. It actually helps if you can’t complete the task. No do-overs.
Ideas include:
- Card Tower without it falling
- Labyrinth without failing
- Download some mazes and conduct 20 mazes without erasing or going backwards.
- Do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmqjnP98wfM or just watch these videos and talk about how one domino out of place is just like Jesus being caught sinning.
Take a look with the family at all the prophecies Jesus had to fulfill (not including living a perfect life) in order to be the Savior of the world. https://parish.rcdow.org.uk/swisscottage/wp-content/uploads/sites/52/2014/11/44-Prophecies-Jesus-Christ-Fulfilled.pdf
OR
If your kids are in High School, consider downloading Bomb Corp. It’s a game at jackbox.com. Caution: we do not recommend all Jackbox games but some are really good and fun for families. Do your homework. Bomb Corp is all about following the rules “to the T” and if you don’t, you will fail.

Go a whole day without sinning. Then, thank God He forgives you because you can’t do what he did his whole life.
