October 19 rewarded the 74 healthy souls who were participating in the 16th Annual Neighbors Sharing with Neighbors 5K Run / Walk with perfect Autumn weather. This event has been organized each year by Holy Cross Lutheran Church in support of The Sharing Place, a food and clothing pantry serving our neighbors in Lawrence Township.

All goods and services related to the event were donated, so all entry fees collected could be passed on to The Sharing Place. As in years past, the food was donated by Au Bon Pain at Methodist Hospital and medals were provided by Castleton Trophy and Gifts.
The event could not have happened without the help of volunteers from Holy Cross, especially Susan Muhl, and the members of Team Tenacious, a local group of endurance sport enthusiasts. Greg Grossart handled registration, and Michael Sapper set up the start / finish line, while Nancy Gawrys and Becky Peterson marked the course.

Adam Campbell repeated last year’s winning performance by covering the course in 18:32. Brett Reardon and Conrad Schumacher followed. The three fastest women of the day were Nicole Werling, Shannon Schumacher, and Stefanie Christensen. George Zeltner and Joanne Palmer distinguished themselves as the oldest runners in the pack.
